OBE has its own set of pros and cons!
The very fact that OBE is a mandated qualified exam for a graduate to be licensed in a particular profession creep! What if a student fails to?? This is one of the major blemishes of OBE. It is also criticized for being difficult to execute and time-consuming. Alignment of learning outcomes to workplace roles and responsibilities is another sad feature of OBE. Sometimes both faculty and students find them superficial and educationally boring.
On its upper hand, OBE integrates and works on bettering student performance throughout the course of education. It’s the approach to assessment, though a time-consuming one (focusing on real-life situations) is what makes it an impressive one. OBE has a systematic process to be followed, focuses on knowledge, skills, or attitudes (KSA)!
